UnCommon Pages at Sneak 'Peak'

Sneak 'Peak' is a one-day festival celebrating Staten Island's in-progress- landfill-to-park -  Freshkills Park. Come see the park in its current glory and learn about its future.

UnCommon Pages is paper handmade from on site phragmites by Sneak 'Peak' featured artist Susan Mills. The paper will be used to publish 2000 Field Notebooks on September 28th - stop by and bind your own book from local materials. Located just across from the 'contract goats' enlisted to eat phragmites on site....

Holiday Bound at Minsky's Circa 1990
40th Anniversary Alumni Instructor Series @ the Center for Book Arts

Full Tilt instructor Susan Mills apprenticed with CBA founder Richard Minsky. One of her early projects was binding an edition of 50 small leather books as holiday gifts for Minsky's clients. The books involved ploughing, paring, rounding, back-cornering, headcapping, tooling and variegated metal edge gilding over Armenian bole. WHEW! In the true spirit of continuing education, Susan will teach the workshop from her original student notes.

Saturday and Sunday, December 6th & 7th, 10:00am - 4:00 pm
